Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Library and Information Science at Yonsei University, and a Data Analyst at Samsung Securities.
About
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Library and Information Science at Yonsei University, based in the department's DataLab, and a researcher at the university's Center for Science and Technology Studies. Alongside my doctoral studies, I work as a Data Analyst at Samsung Securities, where I have spent close to a decade building and operating enterprise BI systems, data portals, and dashboards for one of Korea's leading securities firms.
My research interests include the science of science, where I use bibliometric and network methods to study how scholarly communication and collaboration evolve. I am also interested in health informatics, applying data science and NLP methods to health-related text and social media data. In 2025, I was invited to guest-lecture Yonsei graduate students on academic data visualization using KCI data and Tableau, as part of the university's BK21 program.
Before my current role, I worked as a Relationship Manager in Samsung Securities' corporate banking division, supporting bond and private equity distribution and IPO due diligence. I hold an M.Eng. in Big Data Convergence from Korea University and a B.A. in English Language and Literature / Business Administration, also from Korea University, and was an exchange student at Binghamton University, State University of New York.

Projects
Selected research projects from Ph.D. coursework.
A cross-disciplinary OpenAlex analysis (CS, biomedical, social science, humanities) examining how algorithmic and generative-AI search tools have reshaped reference diversity (Shannon entropy) and journal citation network centrality across three eras of scholarly discovery, 2012–2025.
Analyzed 266K posts and 849K comments from Reddit mental-health communities using a fine-tuned RoBERTa emotion model (28-class GoEmotions) to construct novel emotional-structure indices (diversity, leading gap, polarity, bipolarity) alongside a sociality index, then applied clustering and explainable AI to identify high-risk users.
Analyzed close to 9,900 AI-in-finance papers from OpenAlex (2015–2024) to trace topical trends, interdisciplinarity (Shannon Diversity Index), and university–industry collaboration networks using centrality analysis.
Built a five-year cross-national panel from Korea's national library statistics and the U.S. IMLS Public Libraries Survey (~29,000 library-years) to test, via mediation analysis, whether HR investment improves service outcomes through librarian workforce structure.
